Food for Health & Mind – Part 2

Continuing with Part 1 …..

I am bit confused these days, when I hear about food therapy types stuff like food for soul or mind. People eat to enjoy life or when they are in stress or depressed, etc. This might be true, we get hungrier when we are in pressure, stress or depress. But I feel, still we should eat consciously & not to forget in can affect our health.

We need to maintain balance of food for our mind & health. We need to make conscious efforts to eat in portion. I am not giving any kind of nutritionist advice, but in efforts in make our mind relaxes if we keep on eating it, then we are harming our health. It’s like exchanging our health to get relaxed mind, which is dangerous.

I feel this belief of relaxing our mind with food is like mirage or drug. You might feel relax for some time, as our stomach is full & get satisfaction. But again, after few hours or next day we back to square one. Everything in life is back, nothing changed. But might have degraded our health like if we have eaten like omelette made with 100gms of butter, which is great… nope... super great for our tongue, but exactly super bad for our heart.  Youngers say they are fine, as they are young, but these things comeback to them to bite them. Little Drops of Water Make A mighty Ocean……

Also, in this metabolism plays an important role. We should be aware about the average daily activity we do, and about the level of metabolism in our body. This can help us decide the type of food to eat, the portion of food. We should not forget that food to our primary necessity, but it’s not our life (apart from restaurateurs, chefs & restaurant professional 😉).

Few points can help us eat in good portion. Check how much we eat at home, what we eat, check the fatty stuff we are eating, think of physical activities we have in a day, location we stay like hot, humid, cold places etc. Then try to match these stuff & get a portion of food to eat and what to eat in that like how much fatty stuff, carbs or proteins etc.

Thank you for reading…. Bon Appetit !!!
